Initial application brings out strong herbal bite from the rooibos mixed with undertones of vanilla and clove (which I believe comes from a mixture of the pepper and cinnamon combining). Mellows to a lightly sweet, but rich spiced vanilla caramel. The black pepper and spices become stronger as I wear it. For those that love tea, the rooibos is always taking the forefront. This is like an evening cup of rooibos and it wraps you in the warmth of a cup of tea before bedtime. Unlike other scents with spice and vanilla, this is a very light gourmand that either gender can wear.

Vanilla Rooibos smells good enough to eat! It has an exotic edge, making it easy to imagine that you’ve just wandered into a colourful bazar, full of sweet, sugary foods and foreign spices! I actually ended up wearing it lots when I was travelling around southern Spain, the heat seemed to really extenuate the sweet notes of vanilla, and then once the sun had gone down, the spices would make me feel warmed. Although I ended up wearing this in the summer, I feel like it’s a really diverse, all year round scent. In the winter the strong, warming cardamom notes, combined with a gentle cinnamon and light pepper, would be perfect!!

I started off using the Earl Grey scent which I still absolutely adore, but I came over a sample of the Vanilla Rooibos one. From the bottle it smelled a bit sweet for my usual taste, but when coming into reaction with the skin its true glory unravels. It’s a beautiful scent like no other filled with spices combined with the soft Vanilla. Absolutely unique, absolutely gorgeous – love it ! Another great product from Ravenscourt Apothecary !

‘Vanilla Rooibus’ is warm and cosy, a perfect wear-to-bed perfume. I’ve often found this scent gets ‘lost’ in the louder daylight hours, but in the stillness of night-time it takes on a more solid presence and has a really comforting touch. It’s irresistible containing one of my fave notes, cardamom, and intriguing immortelle. Always on the lookout for more bed-time perfumes to dream to so thank you.

An unexpected favorite. I do like rooibos tea but sometimes the smell tends to be quite bitter – not the case with this one! It smells like christmas spice mix, with the cardamom and cinnamon taking the center roles. The vanilla is almost undetectable but serves to soften and ground the spices which might otherwise be too sharp. This is a very lovely scent, perfect for fall.

I finally gifted myself with a full size bottle after trying out a sample a few years back, and I’m very happy with my purchase ! The fragrance is rich and creamy, and last throughout the day. A little goes a very long way, so I’m hoping for my bottle to last me quite some time. Now I can’t wait to try the asssorted soap !

This fragrance reminds me of a chai latte. It lasts a long time on my skin, and as the day progresses, I smell more of the vanilla (one of my favorite scents). I also haven’t had any sensitivity issues or rash. I really appreciate that these perfumes use an oil base instead of alcohol. I’m enjoying this lovely scent!

Cardamom!!! Thank god. I’ll sample any fragrance with cinnamon and cardamom notes, but annoyingly they end up smelling like a sugary cupcake. I’m wary of vanilla for the same reason. This is such a sophisticated blend, that brings the warming chai spices to the forefront with artful use of just a touch of creamy vanilla as a base. I think the dry and savory pepper is what really brings this together and makes your brain go “tea!”. Really beautiful. So glad I found Ravenscourt!
