An oil fragrance sample allows you to try to decide if it’s right for you. A sample vial contains 1ml (ONE MILLILITER) of fragrance, enough for at least 4-5 applications. All Ravenscourt Apothecary fragrances are 100% vegan, alcohol-free, and based on essential oils, resins and absoluts.

I ordered the ‘Green Tea’ sample and it is perfect. I’ve been on the hunt for a safer, natural perfume now that I have a little’un and this smells delicious. It is so unusual yet utterly appealing. The sample size looked small at first but it provided plenty of applications to be sure of the scent.

I ordered the Lapsang Souchong perfume, and I was a little disappointed by the scent. I was looking for something very smokey, like Lapsang, and while this perfume smells very pleasant it’s much more like incense than smoke. I don’t dislike the smell at all but it’s just not what I’m looking for.

Ordered 3 tea samples: the lighter Green Tea, which is lovely and citrusy but still quite warm and gingery, then Earl Grey which has a more woody and herby smell on me. The longest lasting on me is Lapsang Souchong – the fragrance softens down and is herby but warm the next day on clothing I have worn, after only a tiny dab on each wrist. Friends have loved these too.
The eco-credentials and ethics behind this range are what swayed me initially, but the fragrances are stunning, especially if you prefer something less sweet/floral and want something unique. Lapsang won me over after a tussle with Earl Grey, but I will be saving up for all three. Friendly and speedy service also a massive selling point!

I ordered three different kind of perfume samples: Green tea, Earl Grey tea and Elizabeth Bennet.
Green tea is my favourite: when I took a frist sniff of the bottle, a wonderful whiff permeated my nose. The top note is very green and citrusy, and after a while it mellows down and the woodsy undernotes come forth. The citrusy scent (lovely lemongrass) sits atop it all. Longevity is great, I can detect the fragrance several hours later. Quite unisex. Ordered a full bottle.
Earl Grey was very medicinal at first. After a while I I discover the eucalyptus, which turns out to be quite is prominent. It really smells like Earl Grey indeed (even if there is no eucalyptus in the actual tea beverage). Despite the wonderfulness of the perfume, I felt slightly nauseous sniffing for the first time, which perhaps just means that the perfume is quite potent stuff. Much to my disappointment the longevity on my skin is poor and the fragrance evaporates quickly.
Elizabeth Bennet. It took me a while to wrap my mind around this perfume. I wasn’t instantly infatuated with it, but it grew onto me with the sort of sweet (must be the anise), brisk scent it has. Very lively and bright. I’m not very familiar with the character this perfume is named after, but I could imagine a young, headstrong heroine wearing this. It is quite feminine in a sense, but not in a floral way. Very herbal at frist sniff, but after a while it developes into a more complex smell. Will definitely use the sample and maybe order a full size bottle at some point.
Concerning the sample bottles: I experienced some difficulties when trying to open the bottles for the first time. When you get the hang of it, opening isn’t a problem anymore – it’s about the technique, not strength. You need to be be careful to avoid using a lot of power, since you don’t want to spill the contents. The bottles seem very leak-proof.

I’ve ordered Jane Eyre. A delicate feminine fragrance which is lovely. However I also ordered a sample of Vanilla Rooibos , and this fragrance is truly wonderful. If you like cinnamon you’ll love this . I’m ordering this scent as soon as I’ve finished this review.

I ordered Green Tea and Vanilla Rooibos and they are both great. Green Tea is very fresh, crisp. Vanilla Rooibos is warm, but not overly sweet, which is perfect for me. I enjoyed both samples a lot, many thanks!

The Vanilla Rooibos perfume is a lovely. comforting fragrance. The blend of oils combines to make a really wearable, warm aroma which isn’t sickly sweet or overpowering just a beautiful spicy vanilla smell. Really recommended. (and the fragrance was long lasting on me!)

I happily came across Ravenscourt Apothecary whilst looking for natural oil perfumes. In particular, I was searching for an Earl Grey scent, as I love the aroma of the tea & thought that if it was made into a perfume I’d wear it! I was delighted to find it here, along with the other tea fragrances – the freshness of the Green Tea; the sweet, warm scent of the Vanilla Rooibos; the deep woody aroma of the Lapsang Souchong which I particularly like, after of course, the Earl Grey! It would be great if there was also a Jasmine tea which is another favourite of mine.
